We
left HolmeMills at 10.30 and rode into Burton-in-Kendal to get our route
sheet stamped at the Post Office.
Climbing up the next hill, the phone rang and we discovered that we'd
left some clothes behind! Luckily Helen volunteered to bring them out
to us in the car, and met us on the road.
We
dropped down into Kirby Lonsdale, and headed towards Settle on the main
A65 road.
It turned into a very hot morning, so we were soon stopping at shops
for ice creams and drinks.
Traffic on the main road wasn't too bad, although typically for one
section where there was little room to pass, a great clump of cars came
along, and we suffered considearble verbal abuse from the occupants
of a blue transit van.
