It
was an absolutely superb morning for the final push to Cape Wrath. The
views were breathtaking. Even on this fairly small peninsula the scenery
changes almost at every turn of a corner. The road is pretty rough - I
removed all the heavy non-valuables form the bike and put them into two
panniers which were then chained to a lamp-post by the ferry jetty. Waiting for the ferry were some other wheelers - Andy Chamins on a hand cycle with his partner on a neat little Thorn bike. They were crossing with camping gear. It was a very tight squeeze on the ferry, but this was a bigger boat than was running in 1987. |
