We
followed a diagonal route through the lanes via St.Newlyn East, to the
meet the B road to Perranporth. We
bought Ice Creams from the beach shack, and had hardly sat down when
the heavens opened and we ennjoyed a summer deluge. The Panniers on
the bikes filled with water and all was wet again. |

Perranporth ( dump apart from the beach!) deluge! |
We
had to climb up hill to the hostel, which is an old listening station
at the top of the cliffs, with views down on to the beach. The main gaet
was bike unfriendly as we couldn't get through the gap, so first had to
go and get keys to get in. Then there was no bike shed, so I had to try
and waterproof the bikes as best I could to combat the very heavy showers.
At least there was a very good drying room, so we could get most stuff
dry, and the relly wet stuff we'd offloaded into the car!

Perranporth redeemed itself slightly with a good evening meal in a hotel in the town, - all the restaurants were full. |
