Stage 17: Perranporth to Lands End - 47.1 miles..contd.

1 0 8 9

The last bit of coast is quite lumpy but very scenic. Some large clouds were gathering, and although it was hot and sunny, it was looking unlikely that we'd make Lands End before a good soaking, the head wind was also getting quite strong.

Three views of the Carn Galver Mine.

We passed Zennor, and stopped at the mine at Carn Galver to explore quickly.
Spectacular clouds were forming, and you could see heavy rain falling in the channel (Boscastle bound- probably).
Just after we set off it hammered down for about 15 minutes. We sheltered under a trailer!Roads were awash but the rain was warm, and with the strong wind, everything dried out quickly.
We pressed on through Morvah, and Pendeen to St.Just where the family were waiting. The last few miles were a hard push against gusty headwinds, and we rolled in to Lands End at 4.55pm. 1089miles!

Storm clouds gather again!

After the deluge! ( again!)

St.Just
Last bit of family moral support before the final few miles.

Leaving St.Just
Arriving at Lands End - just before 5pm - 16th August..
