It
was thirsty work. We ate our picnic luch in a layby on Rannoch Moor ,an
eerie place, then descended to Bridge of Orchy, and stopped in the cosy
hotel for a refreshing drink. After that the rain settled in and we got
a bit damp on the next climb, and descent to Tyndrum. Here we had to stop
at Brodies minimarket. I asked for family discount but I think we were
too far removed! The rain mostly fizled out at Crianlarich, and we just
has damp roads, and misty air as we headed along the side of Loch Lomond.
We were too late to get the ferry from Inversnaid, so continued 10 miles
to Inverbeg and got the ferry to Rowardennan. John rang us from Killearn
and was riding out to meet us. The road from Rowardennan to Milton was
horrendous, a mixture of excellent tarmac and huge potholes which almost
caught us out a few times. We passed through Drymen, and met John and
Sam and who escorted us the last few miles to Killearn. The following day was a rest day, when we drove into the City and visted the Glasgow Science Centre. |
